× The Conservatory Group Program Showcase is a variety show containing music, dance, and theatre performances from both youth and adult students studying at the University of Regina Conservatory of Performing Arts.

Performances for the evening will include the following (in performance order):

The Prairie Kids Chorus is a beginner choir for young singers as young as 7 discovering the joys of singing together. The chorus will be presenting a variety of choral music to delight of the audience. This group is directed by Allison Luff with collaboration and accompaniment by Valerie Hall.

The Conservatory Pipe Band will be showcasing their pipes and drums loud and proud! Be prepared for both familiar and unfamiliar tunes as we transport you to Scotland with a variety of traditional and new repertoire with Regina's only youth pipe band. This group is directed by Iain MacDonald with instructors Barb MacDonald, Laura Schmeling, Nadia Kang, and Ruaridh MacDonald.

Get ready to be transported to Southern Spain with performances from Flamenco Regina. Our flamenco dancers will showcase this dynamic music, song and dance form that is sure to bring the energy up in the theatre! This group is led by Lilia Kusiak with instructor Coreen Dupre.

Our Showtime Junior will present Red vs. the Wolf. We’ve all heard the story of Little Red Riding Hood. But how often has it been told from the Wolf’s point of view? Yes, this kind, sensitive wolf gentleman is upset, for he has been maligned by society because of a story that has been repeated to generations of children. The wolf is determined to tell the story as it really happened, of the true nature of Red Riding Hood and his own good intentions. This hilarious story will show that there are two sides to every story. Red vs. the Wolf is by Judy Wolfman and produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Denver, Colorado. Showtime Junior is directed by Vanessa Nezamloo.

Lastly, our Showtime Senior class will be presenting a few short scenes including What is it Mrs. Perkins?, Three Sideways Stories From Wayside School, and Spies 'R' Us. What Is It, Mrs. Perkins? by Art Buchwald was adapted for Readers Theatre by Leslie Irene Coger and Melvin R. White. Three Sideways Stories from Wayside School are by Louis Sachar and adapted for Readers Theatre by Aaron Shepard. Spies 'R' Us by Craig Sodaro is a scene from Virtual Scene Collection #1 and is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Denver, Colorado. Showtime Senior is directed by Vanessa Nezamloo.
