The Cecilian Chamber Series presents the third concert of the 2022-2023 season, "Romantic Journey".
When virtuosos join forces amazing things happen and such is the case with violinist Andrew Wan, concertmaster of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin, silver medalist of the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition. This dynamic duo has made numerous recordings including all of the Beethoven violin and piano sonatas, for which they were nominated for a Juno award, and the complete Schumann Sonatas for violin and piano. The two share a keen, no-nonsense focus; their playing is physically dynamic and spontaneously expressive without theatrics or distracting mannerisms. Richard-Hamelin’s deep, powerful sound perfectly complements Wan’s lean, clear, luminous projection. Their program titled “Romantic Journey” includes works by Brahms, Medtner and the glorious Franck Sonata.
Ticket prices are $55 for Level 1 seating, $50 for Level 2 seating, and $20 for Students. Prices do not include fees or taxes.
