The Conservatory Youth Theatre Showcase is a special event presenting one act plays from the young performers in the Conservatory of Performing Arts Showtime acting program.
Performances will include the following (in performance order):
Showtime Junior is our youngest acting program featuring performers ages 8-10. This group will be presenting The Velveteen Rabbit. Based on the beloved children's book by Margery Williams, this is a short one act play version adapted by Jennifer Reif. In the play, a stuffed rabbit ponders the question of what she is and whether she is real. Through her journey she learns that real isn't how you are made, it's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you can become real. This group is directed by Erika Folnović.
Showtime Senior is our oldest acting program featuring performers ages 11-14. This group will be presenting The Crossroads. What happens when you find yourself at a crossroads in the forest… or in life? Which path should you choose? What is the right decision? The Crossroads is a one act play with vignettes that are funny, curious, and melancholic written by Jennifer Reif. This group is directed by Vanessa Nezamloo.
The Velveteen Rabbit and The Crossroads are presented thanks to Drama Notebook and their fantastic collection of plays for kids and teens.
There will be a short intermission between Showtime Junior and Showtime Senior to reset the stage.
