Westminster United Church
× Regina Musical Club presents the sixth concert of the 2022-2023 season, Trio SR9 with Kyrie Kristmanson at Westminster United Church.

After a first collaboration around Gabriel Fauré, the Trio SR9 and Kyrie Kristmanson extend their beautiful meeting in a common adventure. A program of baroque, classical, romantic melodies but also today's music carried by the voice of Kyrie Kristmanson and the various percussions of the Trio SR9, marimba, vibraphone, crotales and a prepared piano. This concert articulated in 3 parts is an ode to the composers, sometimes remained in the shadow of their contemporaries.

Individual ticket prices are $30 for adults and $25 for seniors (65 and up), plus fees and taxes. Free tickets for those under 18 and UofR students are available at the door on the day of the concert. Students may be asked to present ID.

Cecilian Chamber Series - Calmus Ensemble Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 3:00 PM CST

Darke Hall
× The Cecilian Chamber Series presents the sixth concert of the 2022-2023 season, "Landmarks".

A landmark can be described as a milestone, a symbol or a point of reference. But when does music reach that landmark status, where it is recognized as an important milestone or symbol? Calmus shows numerous points of reference in this truly international program, as we sing music from nine countries in six different languages! Focused on repertoire written within the last 150 years (certainly an important landmark of time!), Calmus looks at music connected by matters of style, and also music that reflects matters of community… music that recalls the past, along with music that looks to the future with a fresh perspective. This colorful program contains echoes of the Renaissance and the ballads of Sting, folk music with minimalistic elements by Veljo Tormis and folk-like melodies in typical harmonies by Francis Poulenc. We also follow the path of Jewish songwriters from Poland (Mordechaj Gebirtig) and Canada (Leonard Cohen), until we finally celebrate rhythmic melodies from Latin America. Please join us on this journey as we survey these musical landmarks!

Featuring Elisabeth Mücksch, soprano, Maria Kalmbach, alto, Friedrich Bracks, tenor, Jonathan Saretz, baritone and Michael B. Gernert, bass.

Ticket prices are $55 for Level 1 seating, $50 for Level 2 seating, and $20 for Students. Prices do not include fees or taxes.

Jesse Roper with Special Guest The Bankes Brothers Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 7:30 PM CST

Darke Hall
× Jesse Roper is a blues/Americana artist with a penchant for writing modern indie infused blues music and delivering bombastic live performances buoyed by his virtuosic guitar playing. There’s a depth, a vulnerability, to his new body of work that hasn’t necessarily been at the forefront of Roper’s previous offerings. With a richer infusion of vintage rhythm and blues as background, Roper’s unique, soulful vocals are given space to soar. Adventuresome doesn’t properly describe Roper as an artist, because when the guitar-wielding dynamo sets out to accomplish something, there’s no telling where his mind will wander, or when his energy will go.

Appearing with special guest, The Bankes Brothers.

Tickets are $40 plus taxes for adults ($44.40) and $20 plus taxes for those 12 years of age and under ($22.20).
